@yourusername problem

  1. Everything apart from the box that allows you to change @tweetmeme to your own user name appears to work very well on my blog at http://www.websitemarketing-tips.com

    I am confusing myself on how this is used and what the purpose of it is. My intitial thinking was that it would put the name of the blog as the username but it still puts @tweetmeme when I physically retweet the article for my twitter account which is @primalmediauk. This is the main twitter account for http://www.primal-media.co.uk

    The plugin is set so that I can edit all tweets that I retweet so I am able to change any part of the tweet message.

    What I wish to achieve is a tweet that is coming from @primalmediauk alerting users that there is a new post on the blog at website martkeing tips.

    Does this part of the plugin work at present and could someone give a quick explanation as to its uses and purposes?

    Thanks in adavance

  2. Hi Rob,

    You don't need to include the @ we prefix that already if you do then we will automatically revert back to the default which is @tweetmeme. Go to your TweetMeme settings and in the source put primalmediauk and save the settings. This should now mean that any NEW buttons generated will have the new @. To update old ones just resave the blog posts you wish to update.

    If you are looking to alert users when there is a new post then either you just click on the button when you first publish the post or you could set up something like a tweetfunnel or twitterfeed into your twitter account to auto tweet new posts into your twitter stream.

    Many thanks
