Hello, everyone!
I'm an Italian translator for Twitter. I stumbled upon a TweetMeme button to retweet a web page and I noticed that the Italian translation for "Retweet this" is mispelled. It should say "Ritwitta", according to our translation guidelines.
The "retweet" button should also say "ritwitta".
This suggestion is not coming from Twitter, in any way. As I said, I just stumbled upon it and though it would be very nice if you could find some spare time to quickly fix this, to avoid confusing Italian users about the correct way to say "Retweet".

Thank you very much in advance,
@Montblanc9999

In IE 7, the iframe code for tweet meme is added via javascript in button.js . On line 37 of button.js, the following should be added to allow transparency in IE7.

newButton.allowTransparency = "true";

The allowtransparency value is set in iframes generated by twitter.php, but not when they are generated via button.js

Thanks!

HI DF,

It's bizarre, we have still been unable to recreate your issue here in the office having tried a number of times to do so. It sounds like the issue may actually be on Twitter's side of things with their OAuth process.

Out of curiosity are you having these issues with any other data services that you have provided with access to Twitter?

Hi Shobha,

It sounds to me like you would be better off using the javascript button so that you can place the code for the tweetmeme button exactly where you want it to be.

Details of our javascript button can be found here: http://help.tweetmeme.com/2009/04/06/tweetmeme-button/

Our Wordpress plugin whilst being very flexible is not designed to only show on some pages of some categories or specific locations. This would be done through editing your template and inclding the javascript where you would like the button to show.

Many thanks

Also, I've done everything according to your instructions in one of your discussion forums:

"Clear your Cookies & cache. Go to Twitter/ Settings/ Applications and remove TweetMeme from the App;ications list. Log out of Twitter. Go to TweetMeme Log out of TweetMeme as well. Now click on a TweetMeme button and you'll be guided through the process of setting up Twitter OAuth for TweetMeme from scratch which should clear any issues."

Still without success :(

I have activated the Wordpress Plugin of Tweetmeme for my site. I have enabled it to appear on all my posts. I have tw special areas I want it to appear:

1. I want it to appear on some selected pages of my site (in the same left side top position relative to the content, as it does on my posts). However if I select the display on pages, it appears on every single page of my site whch I do not want. How ddo I enable it only on some pages, in addition to the posts were it is already functioning?

2. I am using the plugin "Allow HTML in Category Descriptions" to make my category pages also start with some text and images before listing the archived posts of that category. Here I want to include the Tweetmeme button again at the left top position relative to the content of the category page. How do I do that? Since the content at the top of the category page is being created in html ad inserted into the Category Description field for each category, I need to know how to enable the btton to appear on the category pages as it does on individual posts.

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi Sarah,
Thank you for getting back to me.

When I try to log in, first step is when Tweetmeme connects to Twitter, then i put my name and password -> click "allow" to authenticate and the next page result unfortunately says "Application Error" and "An error has occurred that could not be recovered from" information. I've tried it few times unsuccessfully and every time I did it Tweetmeme appeared in my Twitter's account settings -> Connections. I revoked access few times and tried again, but the problem remained. I cleaned cache and cookies.

Thank you,

Hi Dwayne,

Let's start by getting your OAuth working again, it sounds like that's the main cause of problems here.

When you go to http://tweetmeme.com and click on the LogIn button in the top right on the website and try logging into the TweetMeme site there what happens?

If you have no connection set up in TweetMeme I would expect the button to ask you to connect to Twitter an authenticate to create a connection between TweetMeme and Twitter. Log in and that should get you logged into TweetMeme.

Next click on your profile in the top right corner now that (hopefully) you are logged in. Go to the profile tab and you will find a range of settings, the two that would be of interest to you should be:
The ability to edit the tweet before it gets sent to Twitter. (I'd suggest setting that to Yes)
And
On all external buttons, tweet through the Twitter website (I'd suggest setting this to No)

And then next time you click on the TweetMeme button you should find that this works as you would expect (fingers crossed).

If you have any issues during any part of this process let me know and note down the steps to reproduce the issue.

Many thanks
Sarah

For the last few days we've been having problems with TweetMeme button on http://www.dwayneflinchum.com and also with Tweetmeme Connection to Twitter account @dwayneflinchum. I cleared my browser's cookies and cache - but it didn't help either. Please advice, Regards.
